ZL4LF is led by founder and director Gasica (Shafii Mwita Haji), supported by a dedicated team of former ZL4LF students. The team includes business unit heads, teachers, and an administrator, all working together to empower the next generation. Regular team meetings focus on key responsibilities, including:

• Student Welfare: Providing career and lifestyle guidance

• Teaching: Covering languages, science, math, and exam preparation

• Business Management: Overseeing sales, marketing, and finances

• Technical Support: Managing computers and systems

• Library Services: Organizing and maintaining resources

• Volunteer Coordination: Welcoming, housing, and supporting volunteers

• Partner Liaison: Keeping donors and partners informed on project progress

LEGAL STATUS

Zanzibar Learning 4 Life Foundation is a registered NGO in Zanzibar with a board of trustees representing donors, the local community, and the management team. Fully incorporated, the foundation prepares regular financial accounts to ensure transparency and accountability.

Gasica founded ZL4LF in 2006 at just 18 years old, driven by his vision of helping others overcome challenges as he did. A skilled communicator, leader, and teacher, Gasica is a role model for countless young people. His inspirational work has earned international recognition; in 2016, he addressed the UK District Rotary Conference, sharing his story and highlighting the transformative power of sustainable education.
